How I practice counseling

I've been a counselor since 2005 and have had the privilege of hearing many stories over the years. Folks just like you who are trying to live their faith but hit one obstacle after another and are not quite sure what to do about it. I know the feeling of being overwhelming and difficulty of seeing God in the midst of pain. Whether it is marital conflict, family drama, depression, burnout, scrupulosity, unwanted sexual attraction, compulsive sexual behaviors, extended singleness, and/or navigating the crazy dating scene, I'm here to help you find solutions that'll lead you to a better life. 

My goal is to create a tailor-made plan that will get you moving towards health, wellness, and flourishing.

Here are a few more details about my practice for your consideration:

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and hold a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Holy Cross. I specialize in the areas of couples therapy, anxiety, compulsive pornography use, and men's issues. I draw from Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Polyvagal Theory. 

Sometimes we can hit our counseling goals in a few sessions, but sometimes it can take a while longer. It just depends on the presenting issue, but know that my goal is not see clients in perpetuity. I like to tell my clients that my job is work myself out of a job as fast as possible.

I am licensed to provide counseling services to residents of North Carolina, Louisiana, and Florida, and am an approved telehealth provider for South Carolina. I see all my clients virtually through the SimplePractice platform. 

My normal rate is $180/hr, although I do offer a sliding scale based on need. I do not take insurance but can provide a superbill for you to seek direct reimbursement from your provider. 

Finally, please note that my counseling practice is distinct from my online endeavors and dating coaching services.
